Keeping you posted...

We are jumping on the blogger bandwagon. I thought this would be a good way to keep friends and family updated on all that's happening in our busy home. So, here we go!

It has been a crazy week. We have been struggling with getting Ian to bed at night. He loves the story of David and Goliath but is now afraid a giant is going to come into his room while he's sleeping. We have tried various tactics to get him to sleep and slowly finding some methods that work. Each night before bed, we go on a giant hunt. Mommy, Daddy, and Ian search every closet and room in the house. Then we go to Ian's room and sing "God is Bigger than the Boogie Man" three or four times. Then we pray that God will squash all the giants like a bug. He has also been known to sleep occasionally with rocks beside his bed... just in case! All in all, the routine seems to be working. It takes a while, but without it we have to listen to an hour and a half of whining and crying coming from Ian's room.

Nate is doing quite well. The two boys could not be more different. While Ian struggles with sleeping, Nate is snoozing away for 13 hours every night. He loves his bed! He also loves his food. He must be going through a growth spurt. I can't seem to ever get his belly full. His vocabulary is also growing. He is now starting to speak in 3 word sentences. Some of my favorites include: "Ian, no way!", "I beat you, Mama", and "Oh my word!" (I think he got that last one from Mommy.) He's also becoming more attached to his Daddy. Whenever Tavis gets ready to go anywhere, Nate gets his diaper bag and shoes and brings them to Daddy, (and often gets to go with him.)

Hopefully I'll be able to post often. There are so many hilarious things happening in our home every week.
